Testimonies and Words of Encouragement
Immediately below are links to many of Laurie's personal writings. These were written at different points in her life -- peaks and valleys, if you will -- and ultimately, there was a breakthrough point where Christ revealed to her that she no longer needed to live chained to her past.

Testimonies..........

"I've been in a women's group for over 15 years now. These ladies have become my friends, my family. This has helped me get over most of  my insecurities, my sadness."

                 -- Trinity B.

"I am one of the 'lucky' few whose marriage has been restored -- after so many years of hurt and pain. God is a redeemer. He has truly transformed my husband and myself so that we can live a life of joy! It's not to say that issues and arguments don't happen because they still do -- just less frequently and in a more healthy manner. Thank you for my miracle, Lord."
                                              Rochelle T.

"Although I wasn't being abused physically, I was definitely being abused emotionally and verbally.  My husband wouldn't call me names. He considered that 'wrong.' However, he would  would tell me I wasn't good enough. He would control me to the point that if I didn't do exactly what he wanted, I was unworthy of his love. He told me that if I didn't give him sex whenever and wherever he wanted it, he would get it elsewhere. These were just some of the things I endured....many of which I would rather not share. But after many many years of this kind of treatment, I finally said 'ENOUGH!' It was then that I realized, I am worthy. I am wonderful. And no one can tell me otherwise. "

                                -- Melanie H..

"Being able to connect with other women who have similar emotions and feelings has really helped me understand that I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE going through this. I am NOT crazy. God does want me to see myself as one of His wonderful creations. And now I am learning how to pick myself back up and deal with my past issues with the support of friends and The Lord."
                                Lisa R.

Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And when we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

This is a song for every girl who's
Ever been through something she thought she couldn't make it through
I sing these words because
I was that girl too
Wanting something better than this
But who do I turn to

Now we're moving from the darkness into the light
This is the defining moment of our lives

'Cause you're beautiful like a flower
More valuable than a diamond
You are powerful like a fire
You can heal the world with your mind

There is nothing in the world that you cannot do
When you believe in you, who are beautiful
Yeah, you, who are brilliant
Yeah, you, who are powerful
Yeah, you, who are resilient

This is a song for every girl who
Feels like she is not special
'Cause she don't look like a supermodel Coke bottle
The next time the radio tells you to shake your moneymaker
Shake your head and tell them, tell them you're a leader

Now we're moving from the darkness into the light
This is the defining moment of our lives

'Cause you're beautiful like a flower
More valuable than a diamond
You are powerful like a fire
You can heal the world with your mind

There is nothing in the world that you cannot do
When you believe in you, who are beautiful
Yeah, you, who are brilliant
Yeah, you, who are powerful
Yeah, you, who are resilient

Yeah, you, who are beautiful
Yeah, you, who are brilliant
Yeah, you, who are powerful
Yeah, you, who are resilient

Yeah, you, this song is for you
Yeah, you, this song is for you
Yeah, you, this song is for you
Yeah, you, yeah, you
You are brilliant
